Case Study: Comprehensive Building Services

We provided a range of specialised services for a historic building project, ensuring both compliance and quality throughout the process.

  • Initial Site Inspection: Conducted an initial site inspection and reported back with a detailed building condition report, prioritising the sequence of required works.

  • Specification Writing: Prepared specifications including preliminaries, preambles, schedules of work, drawings, and pre-construction information. Issued these documents for competitive tendering, followed by a tender report on costs and recommendations.

  • Liaison with Conservation Authorities: Collaborated closely with a Conservation Structural Engineer and the local council conservation team to ensure adherence to regulations and conservation principles.

  • Planning and Consent Management: Successfully handled interactions with the local authority planning team and planning consultants to produce a historic building impact assessment. This was crucial for obtaining Listed Building Consent under a ‘like for like’ repairs/materials approach.

  • Contract Administration: Managed the project through the Contract Administration role, which included monitoring the progress and quality of work through weekly inspections and monthly progress meetings. Oversaw site processes and valuations on behalf of the client.

  • CDM Regulations Compliance: Ensured full compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 throughout the project, maintaining high standards of health and safety.
